有關工作

名廚 Thomas Keller 說過:「To give pleasure, you have to take pleasure yourself」。真的一點也沒錯。

在一個完美的世界裡,做廚師和其他從事藝術創作的人一樣,一定要先對自己的媒體和對像有濃厚的興趣和感受,才會有感到人心的作品。

可是現實裡,做廚師的壓力很大。廚房裡工作的人有很多脾氣,很多人有 attitude,在有限的時間裡,有無限的工作,而且是不斷重複重複再重複的工作。人和事的煎熬,把所有對廚師的浪漫聯想,一息間化為烏有。想起當初以為可以用這個職業,去「幫助」去「改變」其他人,可是還沒有去「改變」人,自己已經讓廚房文化改變了。

所以做廚師最大的挑戰,是如何在這種環境下仍能保持那種熱忱,從重複的工作中找到滿足,找到喜悅。

May be you're right. Not only in he job as a chef, but also as a teacher. People say you hate that job when you're in that field. It certainly needs more to learn to stay.
