Can we have Virgin Canada?
I've been whining about the hopelessly non-competitive airline business in Canada--we only have two shining companies here: Air Canada and WestJet... and we don't have any website selling discounted tickets like what they have down south. We have been paying high prices flying across the contient: the last time I checked a direct flight from Toronto to Seattle in November costs CAD$800 on aircanada.ca! This is just ridiculous--for that fare I can probably go back to HK from the west coast during low season, let alone there is Oasis now... And the plane we have is not a Boeing nor Air Bus... it's a small European company that makes planes with only ONE bathroom for the entire 120+ seat economic cabin. So as soon as the safty belt signal is off, there will be a VERY LONG line at the back of the plane....
Sigh, when will we have something like Virgin America playing in the market that offers pleasing surprises like providing on-flight Wi-fi and Ethernet internet access?

Did you notice that Air Canada's cabins are cleaner than any US carrier and their flight attendants more professional? While you now have to pay for food on board, at least they provide you with that option and the price is reasonable. (Cheaper than airport food.) Have you tried flying 4+ hours on Delta and got only a cold dinner roll, two crackers, and a bag of chips? Bad assumption on my part that there would be food for purchase. I almost starved to death. 10 - 12 years ago when the US carriers stopped serving meals, I could still got a HOT breakfast on Air Canada. I rather pay a little more to be treated like a person. The only airlines I rave for in the US is Southwest, for their simplicity. Air Canada's pricing model is similar to that of Southwest, though still more complicated. (Haven't got a chance to fly JetBlue yet.) I am waiting to see how Virgin America sustains.
I bet you know that weekend fares are higher. 21-days advance are cheaper. Nowadays, both countries charge many, many fees that easily add up to a hundred dollars.

Thanks for the tips AC! True, there are a lot of American airlines that are running pretty nousy services. But I just thought that it would be a good idea to have more choices rather than sticking to the same airline all the time... It's pretty sad seeing that smaller airlines like the then Roots Air was bought by Air Canada.
Well, nevertheless, I'm pretty pleased with the services with Air Canada, except for the prices.
It seems the Canadian market can only accommodate 2 airlines. I do miss Canadian Airlines. (Or was it called Canadian Pacific?) Remember that one? It has a Canadian Goose on its tail.
